An innovative Ukrainian startup – the first residential-based chain of fresh grab & go food points in Kyiv – is announcing a selection process for the position of Chief Operating Officer, Kyiv.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete operational launch and scaling of the fresh grab & go food chain within residential complexes in Kyiv;
• Sourcing, auditing, and selecting locations in premium/business-class residential complexes (site visits, negotiations with homeowners’ associations (OSBB), developers, and property management companies);
• Managing the construction, renovation, technical equipment, and brand fit-out of new locations;
• Interfacing with the partner-manufacturer of ready-to-eat food (controlling logistics, timely delivery of fresh products to locations, and managing food waste/write-offs at a level of ≤ 8%);
• Building an operational control system: developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulations, staff training, and auditing programs;
• Managing point-of-sale product assortment based on sales analytics (ABC analysis) in synergy with the chef;
• Implementing and administering POS systems (iiko / Poster / Choice);
• Recruitment, onboarding, motivation, and team management: from the first sales assistants at the pilot location to building a team of area managers;
• Monitoring financial KPIs (location P&L, unit economics, food cost, ROI, payback periods).

Requirements:

• Higher education;
• 5+ years of experience as a Chief Operating Officer, Regional Director, or Launch Manager in food retail, QSR, or HoReCa;
• Proven experience in personally launching at least 3 locations from scratch (experience as a “launcher” who builds processes independently rather than just optimizing existing ones);
• Readiness for a hands-on approach: personal presence and supervision at the location on opening days (from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM);
• Deep understanding of food retail specifics and the grab & go format;
• Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, ability to thoroughly read and analyze unit economics and financial reporting;
• Practical experience in self-implementing and configuring POS systems (iiko / Poster / Choice);
• Permanent residency in Kyiv and high mobility;
• High level of self-organization, leadership qualities, proactivity, and readiness to take full ownership of the operational business results.
